It's a split-level, and they turned the two-car garage into an "apartment" area; they removed the garage doors, sided the exterior walls to match the rest of the house, insulated, drywalled, & painted the interior walls, etc.

I know HomeSnap works similarly, where if I take a picture of a property, it uses it's software to take my GPS coordinates, search public records and match the public records address with MLS and then because I'm a Realtor with access to MLS I can see the actual listing data if it is a listing, or if it's off market it simply says off market and just reports the information from the last sale/public records.Zillow, Trulia, Redfin, Realtor.com all do the same thing.

My w-2 doesnt have a 401k so I am not 100% familiar with the way it works, however if my employers match was already in the 401k and I could withdraw it at any point, I would likely withdraw it and search for good RE deals, just because I would know what I am investing in.

@Zach Wain problem with your recommendation: when the awful hazard insurance claim arrives, the insurance company will balk at paying the name on the policy as does not match ownership.
