I own a property management company with rentals near the proposed ROW; also worked at the city in the Planning Dept. for about 6 years attempting to coordinate the prospective station with the Fulton Mall specific plan, the larger General Plan, and all of the layers of transit that could link up (light rail, bus rapid transit, busses, taxis, PRT, biking, walking, etc.)  

So if you notice there is a difference here between a rapidly innovating and disrupting tech ecosystem model we have here in Silicon Valley versus what we have in the great city of Detroit where we had 3 automobile giants who refused to innovate.So I will buy into the bubble and the recession but I don’t think that the DNA of the valley matches the DNA of Detroit as a fair comparison.

There is also a military base in Rapid City.

Huntsville, AL is growing rapidly! 

I don't know if that will continue or not, but the city is growing rapidly and will outpace Birmingham.  

And buying rapidly shows inexperience.I also have been highly critical of turn-key investments, especially lower income neighborhoods / rust belt cities.  

I went to college in Iowa so I know a very RE agents in the davenport/Cedar Rapids area, but trying to network throughout those states that I mentioned to see if anything is out there.

I own one rental in Bettendorf and now that my kids are out of college I am looking to get more involved in real estate in the Iowa Quad Cities and/or Cedar Rapids area. 

Sooooooo..... here are my plans for 2013......I have been in touch with a newer local rapidly expanding brokerage in my area that pays 100% commission on every deal.

The demand will change less rapidly in the short run of this crisis.
