Got an expensive termite & crawl space repair needing to be done before closing required by the underwirter, totaling about 8K, including termite treatment, organic growth treatment, digging out dirt for enough crawlspace height clearance, stiff legs insulation, vapor barrier, 6 crawl space vents (2 powered & 4 regular), and 5 vent wells.

They're generally the units that hang up on the wall at ceiling height in each room.Pros:- Can accommodate central AC install with little renovation- More efficient at cooling/heating because you're heating or cooling each room individuallyCons:- Expensive initial investment- Unit hanging in every room- "More" maintenance (more moving pieces to break)

The trimming is lousy, wall boards bounce, large gaps...detail is horrible.In NYC i could get a total gut job and have installed: Proper sheetrock & durock wall backing, a new shower body with single lever handle & spout, porcelain floor tiles throughout, porcelain wall tiles surrounding the tub to ceiling height, tub, sink, new vanity, baseboard, prime and paint and 2 light fixtures for 10-13K.
