That attorney may be thinking or know that the property is not owner occupied, being owned by an LLC for example, under those circumstances you may be required to have a mortgage originator (or attorney) draft and originate the loan..Much has been written here on the subject of notes and seller financing, search and you'll get lots of info.

I am a member of Invest Club for Women (Men welcome too obviously) and they have two chapters, one local to me now in Studio City, CA (The valley) and one Irvine (OC).What i like is that in most meetings, there is a local RE investor speaking about their particular strategy rather than some guru coming in to upsell you.I also enjoy the networking - they get very interactive with this every meeting and I like the people that attend.The only thing I dislike is that the bar across the aparking lot (at the hotel) closes early often and thus, we have to drive like 1-2 miles down Ventura Boulevard to get drinks after.
