With the Covid pandemic I am wanting to explore ways to wholesale using the internet as my first contact.. ie they want to sell, my company comes up on the search and they call me. 

Older and they dont have access or use the internet regularly.I have other tenants that have setup auto pay with their bank accounts.

All that said, lately the website has been so slow it's been nearly unusable but Facebook has as well so I thought that maybe it's just our slow internet.

It's the best place on the internet to learn and make amazing real estate connections. 

Based on my investigation and his ring door bell it being connected to the internet I came to the conclusion he has already moved out. ( I knew his family left already) called the agent and he told me what I already knew but told me that he’s setting up a short sale but I don’t think it’s gonna be approved because the property is worth more than he was last asking for.

That very much depends on what market you're in, as some will be okay, but there shouldn't be a broad assumption that it always works.

I currently have found one through good ol internet searches and calling around to local credit unions and banks.

He had to shut his entire internet presence down and he still had a lot of renters that didn't pay rent.

Also remember that deal analysis over the Internet is just practice and could be wasted practice until you see what all the numbers mean in real life.
