Attorney is a shark, one of the best reputations in my area. 

Potential partners, clients, sellers, service providers will want to know they're working with a reputable person / company.

Now, since they do not know the interior condition of the house you are able to appeal your county valuation by providing an appraisal telling them the house is worth less per a reputable ad valorem tax appraisal or other methods (county should tell you what they accept).

It could be money, it could be time, it could be some other service—ex: if you are an accountant or a web designer etc Just make sure you are bringing something to the table and not just asking them to essentially work for you for free.

It also helps improve the reputation in the neighborhood and will likely increase overall rental demand and prices in the area.
