@Levi Halperin,I wouldn't know the financial laws of your country, but what is universal is this: some folks have money in various types of accounts - retirement accounts, and such.

You can be a passive investor in syndications if you are accredited.  

Here in Ohio you must obtain a license at a 2 year university or community college or online, there is 120 hours of classes you must take and then you have to pass the final exam of course.

It's a 4-plex that is fully occupied just minutes away from a large university and lake. 

Nick A.it's good to investigate private lending and how it works.I would start searching the following terms on BPProhibited transactions, disqualified persons, custodians,  prohibited transactions,  arms length transaction ,  accredited investor, etc

Im looking at 20-30 units as of now, near universities and upcoming areas.   

My wife and I are originally from Nashville, TN and moved to Houston about a year and a half ago after graduating from Auburn University.
