yes, I did sell the same way but had to deal with the withholding of 15% of the gross sales price for tax purposes as required by the U.S.

I have about 300k in equity and my plan was originally to sell my home and go live in a trailer on my parents property while I worked on a deal for a multi family property.

@Luke H.I've had this discussion with my CA PM a couple of times and he has indicated to me (as noted various times above) that after 7 years it's going to take something pretty egregious to justify withholding deposit money.

But... my parents sold their house in NY with a decommissioned tank that had leaked.

The setup: wife and I live in NYC, her parents recently rented an apartment close to us in order to be with our firstborn son (who is just starting to crawl...), THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH (some good YouTube clips on that if you're interested) and we can both work remote so why not move somewhere with a lower cost of living?

As of my current living situation I am not ashamed to say I still do live with my parents haha (like Thach Nguyen in the past) so I don't pay any rent there. however I do help with the bills so I am not a freeloader lol!

I grew up watching my parents having 2/3 jobs after we moved here from Puerto Rico, I’ve taught in public schools and worked a 2nd job for 7 of those 9 years, and all I desperately want is financial freedom.
