Or similarly, you may choose a property with a lower return because it's closer to you, or because you like what's happening in the town, either of which might represent lower risk.If you haven't already talked to a mortgage person (broker or loan officer) I'd recommend doing so as s/he can work with you to see what you can realistically afford as well as some of the financing options available to you, which seems like what you may really be asking about.

This isn't against any codes to my knowledge except it's hard to maintain the grass/vegetation around it which is a violation if it gets too high.
