You make a valid point and I did think about getting an additional bid but 1) we have a good long history with this guy and he's always been very fair, 2) the hole in the kitchen floor constituted an emergency in my book and 3) with the tornadoes, finding new contractors is a real problem right now.

I have read/listened to a few dozen books on investing, listened to lots of podcasts and spent time networking at local meetups and attending open houses.Currently I am looking for my first home purchase, hopefully in the Portland area.

I have read both of those and J Scotts "Book on Flipping Houses" as well, which is an awesome read btw.
