@Wayne Brooks a counter offer is a rejection of a prior offer or agreement. https://dictionary.law.com/Def...If you have a signed agreement and present them with an addendum/amendment, you are not in contract as you have officially rejected the original agreement.

Specific to Huntington, given recent efforts by officials to raze blighted properties, improve comprehensive planning, attract new industry, and given the low ratio of new housing units build to jobs created, it appears there are opportunities in that market.

If they start to get offended or upset, just say, " this is not the official offer.

My impressions are that this is a lot of official process, that it seems ponderous but fair, and that the importance of being friendly with neighbors cannot be overstated.
