The mention of a SEP IRA indicates you may be.While you could look at a self-directed IRA LLC (aka Checkbook IRA) with a SEP IRA, the Solo 401(k) plan format may be a better option if you qualify as self-employed with no employees.In either case, you can have direct control over the funds and deploy the tax-sheltered retirement savings into investments such as real estate.
