Use the Search feature on BP to locate anything and anyone in those areas/towns you mentioned.

Check with the county recorder's office.As someone mentioned above, some assessor offices don't update owner info until tax time.If it is an entity, check your state corporation commission.

I didn’t mention all the specifics, but I won’t pay funding fees due to service connected compensation.

What I find is that the banks just want too much money for houses that need too much rehab.Is there some way other investors are getting access to properties that aren't on the MLS, or these common sites I mentioned? 

The websites @Anthony Angotti mentioned are great for find properties that have sold.

I should also mention that I paid $1,000 towards my buyers attorneys fees and in addition he charged my buyer $850 for a grand total of $1850 in closing fees...so I am pissed off  that he took advantage.
