My main question is should I begin investing as soon as possible, or wait and purchase more than one rental property to begin.

I know people have done this on taskrabbit - the 'taskers' mainly do a lot of auto insurance photo-related gigs on there and so their 'taskers' would likely be able to take photos of a property/give advice on an area.

For tax purposes income from the rentals would be treated as rental income which is again not subject to the $10k limit.

But, the main thing is to keep positive and keep looking. 

@Will Grabert I agree that waiting around for waiting's sake serves no purpose.

This is not to say I have not bought vacant as I have on several occasions but it has to be a strategic purpose (ie I have a contractor on area who will buy it from me and we have a ballpark price already determined).
