Do you think the caller meant stock market correction?  

Return %'s don't interest me unless I'm leaving all my investment in the deal...like a CD or stock.  

@James Eschert, if you are like many who don't want to put their faith in the stock market and want to explore alternative investments such as rental properties, private lending, etc. then self-directed IRA or 401k will be a way to go.

I believe there is a lot of stock in putting in leg work and working hard.

I predict you are literally being robbed by an unscrupulous company.

I would appreciate input on any Portlanders' experience in the buy and hold market right now as well as recommendations on an accountant who won't just tell me to talk to a financial consultant about bonds and stocks and maximize my 401K.  

I believe real estate to be the best investment - I have tried other investment ideas - short term stock trading which did not go all that well buy I did no lose just got locked into some deals for two years.

As for a estimate as others have stated would be hard to predict.

I do own a little Microsoft stock and I truly wish that was material (ha!)

Have some money in my IRA but only half of where I thought I would be now 20 years ago thanks to the downturn in the economy and stock market.
