Asking because if I have a tenant getting aid, just curious as to how much I would lose if I only got the government check.

My only concern is that I am worried about the COVID bills that are being passed about any government-backed loans, I do not want to be put in a rough spot right off the bat on my first property.

I did just find out about the government protections being extended, so no it would have no teeth. 

This individual has a job and can easily afford their rent, but because the government froze evictions in my area they decided to use me as a line of credit. 

With section 8 tenants you'll still get at least the government's share.
