Im just lost on where to start and scared to death of making wrong choices...like should I buy the carlton sheets program?

Before i learned about REI i was just going out spending money and having a good time. about a month and 1/2 ago i met this person that wanted into REI but is a father of 2 without a mother to help. he is also in the military. now 90% of my spare time is searching for deals and soon to be taking an online course for my Texas RE license.
