It's a gamble, or should I say calculated risk?

There are closer in municipalities and unincorporated areas (burien, renton, tukwila, white center) bordering south seattle which you might find a duplex in that price range,  but you will likely have considerable competition,  either from other people wanting such a property or from developers.  

The other day I was driving along in one of the suburbs (new berlin/ hales corner border for those who new the area), when I  saw an abandoned brick building, so I pulled over to the side of the road, and looked into it.

@Gary Marcotte I straddle the central NH/MA border looking for REO properties and there are few deals to be had.

Go up across the border to Canada and the per capita gun ownership is way higher than ours.

Maybe she wants to invest in another type of venture.As for the "gambler" statement, I thought he indicated she thought it was a gamble.

When I'm interested in something it borders on obsessive.

These skinny deals with nothing left need to be belly to belly.Choices are-1) take a gamble you can do most of the work yourself.
