I am a newbie real estate investor trying to do the same thing as far as starting with wholesale to get some capital and eventually get into rehab and rentals. 

Would it be smart to split it and make a profit on the land to then invest into further updating the existing property or would it be smarter to keep the entire lot and eventually build a second building to use as rental income also?

Keep working at finding money and eventually you will find it.  

NO (It carries the property until i can refi out)BUT do i wait the 6 months to eventually have a cash flowing property?

We are currently reading massive amounts of literature and will eventually be starting our own small investing company.

My opinion is that what comes around goes around and eventually only those that are honest, reliable and ethical will be standing when all is said and done.
