If you are in a place where the code is enforced for rentals but not for occupying homeowners, then unless the plumber had reason to believe that property was a rental, they might (reasonably) assume you'd want the cheapest option.

Well a quick google search shows something like 10 million airbnbs and STRs around my area.I was going to press forward with my plan and assume the claim about an anti-STR Boca ordinance must be either false or un-enforceable, but then I found ONE shred of evidence on the airbnb community pages: https://community.withairbnb.c...Boca isn't cheap.

If the contract is in the name of the 17-year-old, it may not be enforceable, and you could potentially face legal issues down the line.Secondly, even if the contract is in the name of the minor's parents, there may be complications.
