No sure about the reputation aspect, although, if they (the realtors) know you're an investor, they'll be expecting low offers so I wouldn't think they would get upset about it..

I never have any "fixing" worries, I never have to factor in a GC or labor costs (unless it's a huge job), and it's a very very good skill to fall back on in the aspect of real estate as well as just general work.
