Your relatives would fax the bank statement to the store and you would pick it up.Or, your relatives could fax it directly to your agent.Or, your relatives could scan it and e-mail you the scan.

I just got an e-mail from PrivateMoneyGoldmine.com, and commented on another such solicitation here on Bigger Pockets  But, instead of the honest answers here, the guy who was doing the advertising and others got really bad about using their name in my forum Post and even mentioning their name in the same sentence with the word "Scam."

If it was a listed property, was it mentioned in the listing - this may suffice.Also did you have any e-mail communications with the buyer that mentioned you had an interest in the property?

IMO, since the property is out of service as a rental, your mortgage interest from Jun 2011 to the end of the year becomes investment interest to be deducted on Schedule A instead of a rental mortgage interest expense on Schedule E.
