I am the owner and that’s part of the deal.I do think that it is incredibly awful and hypocritical of Homeaway/VRBO to be actively be pushing trip insurance to every renter, for just these such occasions, and they have apparently found some escape hatches in their policies and are NOT reimbursing guests for CV related cancellations.  

I do think the recent virus scare will potentially cause some owners considering selling to be more motivated if they think they can get close to their price.

It motivates me to hear stories like this in this site...

My desired strategy would be to call property owners behind on taxes expecting them to be strongly motivated to sell. 

I have a potential motivated seller from out of state.

Also, it saves me a trip to the property if they are not motivated at all.
