I suggest that you decide if you want to keep your IRA in the stock market or obtain full control over it and have the ability to invest in alternative assets.

We have recently decided that it is something we can do if we just put our minds to it.I have plenty of experience investing in stocks and mutual funds but the only experience I have with real estate is renting the house I live in now.

About 3 years ago my Wife's 85K IRA was making mediocre returns and we decided it was time to use it for real estate, which we understand far better than stocks.

Of course I would be trading in the huge gains I have made from my stock assets.All good info and I will cotinue to educate myself.

In stock market parlance it is called a premium because that is what the owner of the stock (or in this case the apartment) is paid as a result of giving the buyer the right but not the obligation to purchase.

I've seen first hand how RE is a great investment/source of income so I always recommend investing in RE in addition to saving for retirement(stocks/bonds), building up an EF, etcI think your response is pretty on point as far as trust issues/doing due diligence etc.

People of my generation are more interested in buying 300+ dollar sneakers rather than investing in stocks and shares for the company or manufacturer who makes them.

My wife owns none of the stock.
