Review sites offer too much content that is either a thinly veiled attempt at shilling, or that classic "angry Yelper" martyr type, usually a misspelled and emotional rant full of accusations and anger.

I'm not sure how eager I'd buy to buy right now though; the market is all squirrelly right, with values spiked through the roof due to short-term market forces (some driven by $, some by emotion).

Finally, the more equity you can put down up front the less leveraged you are for your emotional piece of mind.

Motivation is an emotional trait, not a data-based trait. 

The remedy for what you are experiencing when it comes to real estate investing or any other form of investing is to leave emotion out of the equation.This is not a hobby.

But, it can get emotional e,g, revenge over a disagreement, put others down so they can look good and be in the top 5, for fun, they simply don’t like this person, etc.

But it could be both emotionally and financially rewarding.

@Sam Young, you also have to understand that while in the commercial space, you can have emotions tied up, often time you are dealing with sophisticated buyers who understand all the expenses involved in running a property.
