The economy is to blame but local politics have played a role in the demise of Arecibo as well.I'm not sure how long your most recent visit was or when you are planning your next trip, but I do hope you get a chance to view some of the other " non tourist" areas as you may be pleasantly surprised at the resurgence (albeit gradual) of some of the surrounding towns.I've been a resident here now for the past 4 years and I currently work as  a lender at a local mortgage bank and also am now getting more involved with RE investing here.

I see after re-reading that the potential tenants haven't signed a lease yet.

When I was content with my unit count and portfolio and buying more became difficult anyway I started paying off my highest rate and highest risk loans organically with portfolio cashflow.In RE, you have to make hay while the sun is shining.

What was it about RE wholesailing that interests you?

So, applause on going that route to learn.Call me old school, and some hate him, but I can't imagine anyone succeeding in RE having not read any of Robert Kiyosaki's books.

Not too often do I read about personal experiences re-selling turnkey, so I value your post immensely.Could you provide details on how you sold your turnkey property?

@Jorge Ruiz just curious how do you sort our RE agents that are investors vs not, do you just ask them? 

This implies that any investment in San Diego RE should be financially viable as an LTR.
