Nervous About Vacancy

I’ve been following the Bigger Pockets movement for a few months now and I’m getting closer and closer to making my leap into real estate. One road block/scare I’m facing is vacancy. Once I get the deal I want and have it rental ready, how do I make sure to keep my unit occupied and minimize vacancy or is that just something that comes with the territory. My nightmares, is being stuck with a property that is vacant half the year or more .
