The question arose after reading a BP article arguing that you shouldn’t use cash from a refinance to pay off student loan debt, but rather pay it over time and use that cash for a property.

The good news is that Santa Clara County has seen just over 5% appreciation for the same period, so hopefully we align with the county in general at some point this year (Mountain View city level data is prone to large monthly swings due to the low transaction count).
