The seller also asked for a quick closing, so I didn't have much time for inspection.I talked to the land survey company on Tuesday, and they said they will come out to take a look and then give me a report by the following Monday.

I also think it is a good idea to minimize your taxes now, while positioning yourself the best you can for the future (where everything is an unknown).It certainly would not be a bad thing to also use your retirement accounts to invest in real estate (as long as you are very careful to follow the rules- avoid self-dealing!).

Following probate, the property was left to her and her brother.

I DO NOT suggest you follow my steps and I'm sure the BP community would agree with that.

Anyone know the answer to this, or is it a decision strictly up to the home community?

It may not be enforceable if you do not follow all the apropriate laws and rgulations.
