If the bottom of the pile has organic matter or household chemicals or anything with moisture, it's most likely damaging the flooring and walls and attracting pests.

I Think Drywall on basement ceilings is a bad idea, in all my houses it inhibits getting to too much of the plumbing and electrical.I always update ceiling fans, they are cheap and a good new one is a better investment that having potential complains about the old one if it were to fail.What does the wood paneling look like, newer stuff is difficult to paint, while older paneling may have moisture problems and need to be removed.

I haven't found just a "standard" 20 or 30 year amortized fixed rate loan option, except for ones that are in excess of 9.5% interest rate, which shoots most deals apart in terms of monthly cashflow.I am wondering for those of you out there dealing in commercial / portfolio financing, how do you evaluate a property for purchase with monthly metrics, when there is an ARM?

With all the money that the government has been printing, that is not a bad assumption.But I am worried that the inflationary consequences of printing money are going to get more than offset by the deflationary effects of shrinking consumer spending and, consequently, excess capacity in the economy.While I admit that the jury is still out on this issue, why should we investors take the significant risk of capital depreciation when there are other opportunities out there that do not have macro-economic risks?
