Questions around Rehab

I am in the process of starting a rehab and there are a few things in the house that I am debating on, I would appreciate if people can share their thoughts on these

1) False ceiling in basement VS dry wall

2) Remove of Keep old whole house fan or remove it completely or replace it

3) Wooden panels (1/3) in basement wall - remove it  or paint it
