How does a correction, bear market or recession effect those who actually LIVE off their funds or dividens?

I forgot to mention the property is in a very small town (around 4,000 people), does that have any negative effect on numbers?

It is going to take sometime for the effect to trickle down to the real world but it is coming quick.I am curious to know how much people have lost so far and what are you doing to prepare?
