By the end of the process, you will have narrowed your search down to a small number of cities.

Once you narrow in on a market that's landlord friendly, has population growth and job opportunities I would look at building a team.

There are a lot of management companies in the city and many that only cover certain parts of the city so having an idea of price point and what level of service you expect for you and your resident will help you narrow your list.
