I would rather have a tenant who complains about a tiny scratch than a tenant who doesn't care if all the windows are busted out and water pipes are leaking and rotting the wood floors.As a landlord, you should try to realize that many tenants rent because they don't want to have to worry about maintenance.

If it's 7% on a $100,000 loan, and that property's been appreciating and cash-flowing, you might find it's better to own the property.Rates are very low now, so it would almost make some sense to hang on to some dry powder.

I will be renting out a room, probably AirBnBing the other room, as well as putting some of the property locations up for HipCamp and putting money into transitioning some of the outbuildings into tiny home dry cabins with compostable toilets to be able to rent them out and use the profits to save up to install actual plumbing down the road.
