Turns out the connection feeding the water to that line was shut off and when I turned it on under the kitchen sink the dishwasher worked fine. 

Many properties in my area were built in the 1950s.I am going to paint the interior, replace the carpeting with vinyl plank, and update the closet in the kitchen to turn it into a pantry.  

I use incandescent to get a warm glow, LED in kitchens and garages, clear bulbs to get sparkle and use the old style yellow filament bulbs to highlight a great light fixture.  

He hired a contractor and crew who tore-up and trenched a channel in the garage concrete  to access the pipes,  trenched the front lawn, and tore up the kitchen floor and wall. 

The breaker that's tripping controls 4 outlets on a kitchen island. 

My only hiccup came up with the kitchen cabinets.

We used granite for the kitchen, but it's such a small kitchen that it wasn't too expensive - $1500, I think.  

Mark,The first thing I would ask myself is this noise coming from tile floors in the kitchen and bathrooms and if so I would disregard it.

Has anyone tried incorporating open shelving in their kitchen remodels?
