Is this conversation a red flag that this broker may not be suitable for me to work with or is it just a product of the stricter lending environment today and brokers are just trying to avoid wasting their time?

I have specialized in complex selling environments, solutions, and organizations, involving multiple stakeholders.

How could lender survive in this environment ?

I recognize this is a function of the current interest rate environment but suspect certain areas are more conducive to this than others.

It's difficult to predict in this environment for multifamily.

It also lets me know that you are a landlord that cares about your property, the environment, and your tenants.

I don't recall right now, but they (for instance) loan 10% of the value, but receive 50% of the equity above the initial value...if you do the IRR on it they're looking at 30%+ in a normal appreciation environment...which correlates loosely to what you are 'paying' in interest by using their product.

Things were better for me than they were for my mother and better, in general for women when I left than when I started, my granddaughters will hopefully work in a more equitable environment than I did.
