My husband and i are still looking at different properties but we are unsure if we should get pre-approved for a loan first before making any decision since we are not sure what the approval amount will be.

Yep - try to separate personal assistance (which might be necessary) with business decisions (which has a cold, calculated bottom line).

Do not use someone else's analysis to make what is a hugely important decision.

You'll never have all the answers, so at some point you just need to make the best decision with the information you have.
