If the episodes are too long (Usually an hour and a half), then I'd break them down into 45 minute sections to listen to each day. 

Starting my day by pushing my mind and body to their limits sets a tone for the day and makes me feel like the hardest part of the day is over. 

I've purchased nicer units and they seem to break just as easily as the cheap ones.
