Prevents any issues coming up later when you want to sell the property or when the county sends drones through your neighborhood looking for unpermitted pools/decks/carports, etc to try to raise revenue to cover unfunded liabilities in government spending. ;-)

I wouldn't spend near as much time worrying about that law, as I would spend looking for a good deal.

I work out of state and only spend 14 days there....

I recently had my first tenant move out and had to spend $5000 on the house after them. 

I see so many room illegal additions/conversions where the homeowner spends a lot of money on the project, but when they sell the appraiser assigns it no value because the square footage is unpermitted.

Spend time reading forums and free education here in bigger pockets and you will likely find better info and tools than they will provide.  

I remember spending hours looking into where a $17 deposit came from!!

A few years ago I helped my (retired) parents buy their most recent house by directly giving them a $100k cash down payment, and they would like to leave the house to me when they pass in thanks for the assistance (it ended up helping keep their mortgage extremely low since they are on a fixed income).They are very worried that it will somehow get caught up in probate or red tape when they pass even if my name is spelled out in the will, and wanted to see about just adding me to the title or something so that there is a seamless transition without any hassle.
