I have been searching daily on Zillow and Real Estate apps to try and find that perfect starter duplex but have come up short.  

I just would like to know others insight on the subject, any beginner tips, do's or dont's, and any good or bad stories.

It seems counter-intuitive that they would give me tips to access their same agents or contractors as it seems we would then be competing for the same deals from the agent, priority time with the contractor, etc.
