Within a Checkbook IRA LLC, Could I loan the LLC money if I treated it as any other loan?

Thinking about funding it through a self-directed IRA. 

I have an IRA that is doing well but will not be adequate income at retirement my question is should I cash in my IRA to purchase another unit?

IRAs can be great for certain investments, but not all.

You want to focus on finding the right self-directed IRA service provider.

I would open a Vanguard IRA and place it all into VTSAX.

Have you looked into the logistics of rolling over a 401k into a self-directed IRA, and do you understand how to partner with an IRA without violating the prohibited transaction rules?
