If you are truly trying to build a "team" to help you with your investing, sit down with them and tell them you're green but have goals. 

I currently work in the Energy Efficiency (Green) field, which is a growing field, but working for others just isn't for me any more.I will be successful in real estate investing, because of my drive, work ethic, and heart!  

If you are relatively green to REI that is a great service!

By evaluating like this you can red light green light very easily and create benchmarks to quickly eliminate the losers and see the winners rise to the top.  2.

Here is my financial situation:I have 3 credit cards: (owe/limit) Chase Sapphire: 4.5k/5k      monthly payment= $120Citi Platinum Select: 4.8k/5k   monthly payment= $115Amex Green: 0/no limit (charge card)Total I owe: 9.3K/10k Income (after tax) = 2k/month. - expenses = 1k (not including CC payments)Credit score is = 670sTo be able to purchase a Homepath property you need to put at least 10% down which would be about 5k if purchasing a 50k SFR.Do you recommend paying down both my credit card balances to $0 or can I pay it down until they reach 30% utilization?

We (Build It Green) are trying to figure out the best way to let contractors (in California) know about the programs available to them.
