Working on houses yourself definitely boosts your confidence level while bringing in higher rents.If I were you, I would definitely renovate Side B and bring the rents up to market.Glad you got rid of the sh*tty handyman :P

Though I about had a heart attack when I saw a 3-plex hit the market in Brighton at $2.5M a few days ago.Maybe you're right about Boston after all...

It sounds like you've had a rough ride and your heart wasn't in it to begin with, a reason why so many don't venture into real estate or want to become a landlord, I hear it all the time.  

My heart goes out to all those affected by Hurricane Harvey, as I am still rebuilding in Fayetteville, N.C. after Hurricane Mathew last October.

Keep at it, everyone gets a bad tenant, don't loose heart over it.  

My heart goes out to the many who are losing their homes right now, but even though I lost 50% of my rental portfolio to the Great Flood of 2016 it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.Where else can you pick up all the houses you can find the funds for at 30-40 cents on the dollar?
