It is my understanding Texas has been enjoying another great oil and gas boom for a number of years.

After a few calls being a pest (the squeaky wheel gets the oil) I finally receive a call back from the attorney @4:30 PM (remember, this is Friday going into a holiday weekend) and he tells me that he and his staff are out of office right now (well, of course you are, but you weren't the many other times I tried to reach you -.-) and will not be back until Tuesday where he will make this first priority!    

About 3 years after investing in the property, the natural gas and oil boom moved into my area, and I was able to get a fat check from leasing my mineral rights.

If you buy a STR around some of the mountains (Sugarloaf, Sunday River, Saddelback) then you get a good balance of occupancy in all seasons with skiing in the winter, leaf peeping in the Fall and hiking/camping/fishing in the summer.

We are at the top of the market right now so its not shooting fish in a barrel like it was 4-5 years ago.

The MLS listing says the owner pays the oil bill which is a very large expense here in Maine.The oil for my 3-unit in Lewiston was about 3k for 2018.

I have a chance to buy a significant amount of property in Alaska (fishing lodge) that goes hand in hand with my fishing guide business. 

Think of it like fishing … it takes awhile but you’ll eventually get a bite.
