Living in North Park you get a nice neighborhood vibe, you are close to Balboa park (great for dogs), and you are a short driving/biking distance from all the fun of downtown. 

but maybe enough you don’t mind putting up the cash to get out.If you don’t long distance investing, renting it probably the better choice for your current residence.

Are you planning to buy long distance or will you be there in person to look and review homes.Also have you looked at HUDHomeStore.com to see if there are properties you like, in the area you want at the price point you need to be?   

Also, open to suggestions of things to be aware of when managing a long-distance flip.

This will be my first long-distance rental.

I’ve seen everything from 1k-5k for short distances (under 50 miles) and 5-10k for longer distances.

We had one property manager in Idaho totally disappear with $40,000 of our cash she had in her account and suing was out of the question due to distance and costs.Never trust someone with your money and never give someone else control when you do not have to.

Purchase price: $220,000 Cash invested: $55,000 First long distance investment
