Any advice on a good path to take starting off?

Sounds like you followed my path of lurking in the forums and listening to podcasts for several years before jumping in - it was all a wealth of education and a huge confidence builder as me and my husband have pursued REI and built our portfolio.A few other things that may be helpful to you here on the Bigger Pockets website:You can set up keyword alerts so anytime someone posts about Kingwood or NE Houston, you'll be notified.

If you try to learn it all, you'll be educating yourself for years and years, where you could have hopped in and gotten farther learning by doing.I wish you luck in your path towards RE success!

And even those who are in tech like myself know our day may come to.Keep it up, you are on the right path.

You may pay them to check out your plans and let you know if you're on the correct path.

Because without a clear path of where you want to be, you will never reach your goal.

Hi @Jay Hinrichs,I never get advice from people that have never been down my path.  

A very good friend of mine (20 years old, full time REI) inspired me, along with a life-long entrepreneurial mindset to join the path of REI.

I'm happy to hear you and your friends are looking into RE as a tool to help you retire early.It sounds to me like your goal is to be a buy and hold investor but I could be wrong - Please let us know, specifically, what you have thought about with respect to your path in Real Estate.That being said, you can have any number of ways to break into RE even as students.

I'm VERY excited to go down this path as a real estate investor :)  I've been lurking for few weeks and decided to post an intro today.
