Newbie getting started in the Houston Market

Hi folks! I am starting out on my REI journey in the Houston market (specifically NE Houston) and want to learn and add value everywhere I can. I've been reading and preparing for years and finally want to just jump in and swim. Any advice is appreciated. I'm focused on flipping right now to acquire funds for buy and hold multifamily - I ultimately want to own apartment complexes for cashflow and ability to scale. My short term goal is financial freedom for my family, my mid term goal is to bring value in what I touch and am involved with, and my life goal is to give back from a position of freedom to do so. Like Andrew Carnegie, I want to build wealth the front half of my life so I can give it away in the last half.
