Most local banks/CUs who have their wits about them would see the dollar signs and be more encouraged to speak with you. 

Also, due to this BP forum, now that I see the value of working with a lender and a realtor who are actual investors themselves, it makes sense to eventually search for and change to the latter.

On a side note, we may start to see things shift in certain CA markets as folks no longer have to pay a premium to work in cities like San Fransisco, LA and SD.  

While I wouldn’t mind someone else helping with walkthroughs and such, I would make sure I see the application, credit report, etc before signing any lease.

It's easier for the renter to see the final outcome rather than try to visualize a space with construction material all around.
