You might check with whoever it is that regulates the water in the area where you are and find out all the rules and regulations associated with houseboats, and whether or not there's anything that prohibits private owners from renting their houseboats.

In both of those condos, they had already reached their rental quota, so no more rentals, and they had a waiting list for in the unlikely event that somebody gave up their rental slot.And some condos prohibit or limit pets.

To me, that is the real issue here.Personally, I would call the tenant and let them know that I know what they are doing and, assuming I have a subtenant prohibition in my lease, that they are violating the lease.

 Transport can be prohibitive, I'm not sure if you would find a mover that will do this long of a move and be aware, when moving homes from one area there can be issues with climate ... ex ( wind zone ratings in hurricane prone areas, snow load for the roof ) .

In fact, Fannie specifically addressed the confusing statements you referenced above, noting that the “a second home must not be a rental” portion of the lending guidelines was intended to prohibit renting through a third-party exclusively as a full-time vacation rental.
