Owner occupied or not?

I don't know actually, but I wonder the reason IF...Would a city push something like this in attempt to drive up ownership by raising the barrier of entry/operations for noon owner-occupieds?

The downside for househacking, hard money lenders are NOT allowed to lend to owner occupied homes because they do not confirm to Dodd/Frank lending laws.

Are you planning on owner occupying the home, to get such a low down payment?

I, like many others on this site got my start in real estate with an owner occupied small multifamily property.

Apparently two of the units are currently occupied, one by a section 8 tenant, and the other with a non-compliant tenant who hasn't paid rent in over two years.

Eric, The lenders are correct that if you are an occupying resident that you will get the lower rate, however lying regarding your intent to occupy is mortgage fraud.
